Numerical methods in civil engineering course is studied during one term at the 3d course, 2 academic hours per week (1 - for lectures and 1 - for laboratories). The goals of the course are:
- To provide a knowledge of some inportant engineering problems statements.
- To provide a knowledge of the main numerical methods for solving typical engineering problems.
- To develop a skill of modern software application for solving typical engineering problems.
The program of the course includes:
- The basics of optimization problem. Simplex-method for linear optimization problem solution.
- Statements of problems, described by differential equations in partial derivatives.
- Basics of mesh (finite derivatives) method for two-dimensional problems. Explict and implict schemes.
- Finite Elements method for two-dimensional problems.
- Numerical solution error estimation and decreasing methods.
